Friday Favs 53

Happy Friday!  Here are some things I'm loving right now!

Fav #1

This sweet corn soup is amazing. It tastes like fresh corn on the cob.  In a bowl.  Which means I ate it almost every day until it was gone :)

Fav #2

I'm loving these wood watches by Jord right now!  My favorite is the Cora series Zebra wood and Turquoise.  I love the different tones in the wood, and think it would look great with a lot of different outfits!

Fav #3

I can't do another fav post without sharing my diaper bag with you.  I love it!  The JuJuBe BFF was such a splurge, but it's so pretty and functional! At this point in life, I use a diaper bag rather than a purse, so I needed one that looked great.  I parted with a ton of Ebates dollars that I've been hoarding for a long time in order to make the price more palatable.

The best price I can find for this print is here, and it looks as if they are always offering 10% off.

Choosing a print was SOO hard because I loved so many of them!  I gave Mr. M. some input, since he might need to carry the bag at some point, and he preferred the Queen of the Nile, which is a black and white herringbone pattern.  I love the fabric paired with the gold hardware.  Although let's face it-- had the leopard print been released when I bought my bag, he probably wouldn't have gotten a say!

Fav #4

And speaking of Ebates...if you aren't using it yet, you are missing out! It's awesome, and I use it to get cash back on almost everything I buy.

They work with almost all of my favorite stores, and it is just too easy not to use.  All you have to do is go to the Ebates website and open the website of the store you are shopping at from there.  That's it!

You definitely should check it out! If you do, please use my referral link!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favs 52

Happy Friday!  Even though I'm on maternity leave, Fridays still get me pumped because the weekends mean that Mr. M. is home with us!  Love that...and the extra sleep that comes from his help with middle of the night feedings!

Fav #1
I can't talk about favorites without acknowledging that October has arrived!  I LOVE this month...the weather, the foliage, the fall fashion that I can finally wear.  Welcome October! Oh, how I have missed you!

Fav #2
I recently discovered the Etsy shop Layered and Long, and I am in love.  They shop features tons of gorgeous layering jewelry that is also special enough to stand alone. I especially like that you can customize your necklace's length and material (most pieces are available in silver, gold, and rose gold).  I have my eye on the gold bar necklace, which I'd love to have engraved with my kids' names.

...but I wouldn't be mad at anyone who bought me the Herkimer diamond necklace.  Just sayin.

Fav #3
A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the cutest personalized books!  Lost My Name books tell the story of a little boy or girl who has somehow lost his/her name, and embarks on an adventure to find it.  Each story uses the letters in the child's name to guide his/her journey to recover their name.  Have a kid with a short name?  They'll add in some extra part of the journey to ensure their story is at least 24 pages.

Ours arrived last week, and they are adorable!  I'm planning on giving them to my kids for their first Christmas, so I loved that I was able to include a personal message to each in the front of their books.

Thinking this would be the perfect Christmas gift for the little one in your life?  Use my link for 15% off!

Have a great weekend!  We are watching and waiting to see what Hurricane Joaquin means for us.  Hoping your weekend is safe and dry!

Friday Favs 51

Yay for Friday!

What a fab week this was....but now that it's almost over, I'm pretty excited to sleep in tomorrow.
When am I not??

So here's some of the things that made this week so great!

Fav #1
This. Soup. I can't stop eating it. I'm kind of ashamed (but apparently not that ashamed since I'm putting it on the internet) to admit that I ate it for lunch 4 out of 5 days this week....and once for dinner.  The creamy tomato version is amazing too.  And since a local grocery store carries this stuff for $1.29, I'm clocking in at around 30 cents a meal, and I don't see an end in sight. Oh,and it's gluten free...which I don't really care about.  But you might!

Fav #2
I bought these boots this week, and I'm in love!  Not only are they cute, but the 2 1/2' wedge heel makes them totally walk-able!  I can run around in them all day at work without being in misery, which is by far the best thing about them.  I bought the gray, but have found them around the internet in other colors.  Hmm....do I need brown?!

Fav #3
Now that our closet doors are finally re-installed, I'm on the hunt for the perfect hardware.  These brushed gold beauties from Kohler are exactly what I have in mind, but are not an option at 25 bucks each, especially since we need 8.  Let the search for a suitable replacement begin!  But I'd better hurry...I kind of want to wait until the closet is completely done to do a reveal, and I can't wait much longer!
It. Is. Fab.

Have a great weekend!!

Friday Favs 50

Heyyy!  Long time, no favs.

I'm so pumped for the rapid approach of autumn.  I love fall....it's the season that makes me want to light a scented candle, sip a pumpkin latte followed by a pumpkin beer, use my crockpot, and cut my hair into a sleek, new style....all while wearing a scarf and boots.

So in honor of my favorite season, here are some of my favorite things about fall!

Fav #1
Fall nail colors.  Unfortunately I'm not able to get regular manicures, but when I do splurge on a mani, nine times out of ten it's during the fall.  I just love the colors!  My fav as of late has been a mushroom-putty color.  And if I'm doing my nails at home (which I suck at), I go for Sally Hansen's Slick Slate.

Fav #2
The return of non-curly hair.  My hair has a lot of wave to it and doesn't survive heat and humidity when straightened, so I wear it curly pretty much every day in the summer.  Which I love...but get sick of.  I'm always dying to cut and style my hair in the fall...now if I could only get better at the styling part.  It's kind of like I have two left hands :)

Fav #3
Porch decorating. Mums! Wreaths!  I'm trying to hold off on buying my mums until October, so they last through Halloween.  But I feel my resolve crumbling daily...I can't wait to do up our front porch.  Here's a flashback to last year's fall porch decor in the meantime...

Fav #4
Fall beers. While I love my pumpkin spice latte, I really love my autumn-inspired brews. There's nothing better than a pumpkin-ale on the patio on a Friday night in the fall, a theory that I'm pretty sure I'll be testing out once again this evening...

Someone's gotta do it.

What are your fav parts of fall??

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favs 49

Hi guys!  Long time, no post.  Sorry.  It's been a bit of a whirlwind week....
I thought summer was supposed to be my downtime?

I'm sharing what I made with those gilded seashells that I showed you last week over at Sweet Haute today.  Be sure to check it out!

Fav #1
Look what Bath and Body Works has!!  Fall scents are starting to arrive.  I'm so excited.

Fav #2
I shared some of my fav items from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale last week, but then I found these boots. I really shouldn't buy them, but my brown boots are kind of beat and I feel like the the black at the top would make them even more versatile.......we'll see.  I loved them last year, but the full price of $200 was definitely out of the question.  And $135 is more than I would normally spend, but I'm feeling like I could wear them with a LOT.  Thoughts?

Fav #3
Check out these great shoes I get to wear in my friend's wedding tomorrow! Seriously, what would they NOT go with?!  I love them, and there have been so many occasions this summer that I would have loved to wear them (you know, if the wedding had already happened).  They're pretty comfortable too, so I'm super excited that after tomorrow they'll be fair game!  Yay for friends who have good taste! Also...they're on sale for $25 right now, so it's the perfect time to grab them for yourself!

Have a great weekend!!

Friday Favs 48

What up?  Happy Friday!

Tons of my fav bloggers have been raving over the deals to be found at Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale Early Access event for Nordstom cardholders for days now, but since I'm not a cardholder, I've had to wait until today to get a look at the deals that are now available to the general public.

Sorry guys, I'm not going to get a credit card just so that I can shop a sale a few days early.  Especially at a store like Nordstrom, where I could easily drop a few hundred bucks in a few minutes.  Dangerous.

But the Anniversary Sale IS pretty cool.  For a few weeks, Nordstrom offers new merchandise for the upcoming fall and winter season at great sale prices before bumping them up to the regular prices that they will be for the rest of the season. It's a great opportunity to invest in shoes, jackets and basics for the upcoming fall and winter seasons AND an awesome opportunity to get started on Christmas shopping!  And since Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns on every order, every day, ordering stuff to try on  at home is risk-free.

So for this week's Friday Favs, I thought I'd share some of my favorite picks from the Anniversary Sale!
Disclaimer: I'm a girl on a budget.  So, while there are some AMAZING sales on higher-end items, I'm not really one to spend a few hundred dollars on a pair of shoes or a bag, so my focus will be on more affordable accessories and home items.  But if you ARE more of a high-end shopper, check this sale out!  It's totally for you.

Fav #1
Love this Cara 'Knot End' Hinged Bracelet!  Really love that it comes in three colors and costs less than $18!

Fav #2
These letter accent pillows are just too cute!  For less than $20, they would be adorable in a kid's bedroom or any place that needs a touch of  whimsy.

Fav #3
I'm in love with these link bracelets!  With four colors available for under $40, this would be a perfect addition to my jewelry box!  I especially love the rose gold.

Fav #4
This Lola Cuddle throw looks so cozy!  I love the aztec print!  It's available in three colors and costs less than $25.

Fav #5
Probably my favorite item in the sale is this pair of House of Harlow Sunburst Button Earrings. I love these!  I want both the black and the olive.  For less than $23....it might have to happen :)

Fav #6
This is not from the Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale, but I can't not mention these amazing monogrammed house numbers on Pick Your Plum today. I'm in love!

Are you a high-end shopper?  I just can't do it. I want so many other things more.

Have a great weekend!!

Friday Favs 47

Happy Friday!  Is it just me, or is summer flying by?!
Please, please slow down.

A few weeks ago, I shared with you that Mr. M. and I are trying to start our family through IVF, and as I find myself stuck in the interminable two-week period where there's nothing to do but wait to see if the process was successful, I'm increasingly finding myself wading into the dangerous territory of dreaming about putting together a nursery.

Why is that dangerous, you ask?  Well, you don't get to the point of IVF without a fair amount of failure. In our prior attempts leading up to IVF, I've allowed myself to imagine and plan for success, which ended up making the failures just a little harder to swallow.

Surely it would be easier to detach, but I can't help it.  The planning and dreaming is just so fun while it lasts!
And apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment :)

So this week has been dominated by expanding my never-ending list of nursery inspiration.  Lately, I seem to be leaning towards more modern, gender-neutral spaces featuring graphic prints.  Grays, blues and yellows seem to be where I'm heading. Here are my current favs!

Fav #1
I love this aqua and gray nursery.  It is gorgeous as is, but it would  also be so simple to add in some pops of color to make it more gender specific.  I'm thinking orange, yellow or bright pink.

Fav #2
Ok, this one is definitely feminine.  But oh, that mobile!  Love those ruffled poms, as well as the graphic crib skirt.  And that mirror!

Fav #3
Any kids who grows up in this room is destined to be cool.  The focal wall is perfection, and I especially love the modern crib.

Fav #4
I'm pretty sure this is the first nursery I ever pinned (years ago), and it consistently lands in my list of favorites.  The striped walls were the inspiration for our striped focal wall in the room that will eventually be the nursery.

Fav #5
I love the board and batten and the pops of yellow in this room!

OMG I can't wait to have real nursery plans to show you! Follow along with the inspirational pinning on Pinterest!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favs 46

Happy Friday!

Since I'm writing this from a hotel room on my tablet, Friday Favs will be short and sweet this week. But....oh how sweet these fav moments of the week are!!

Fav #1
My nieces and nephew are here!!! They were born last night, and are doing great! Huge shout out to my amazing sister-in-law for carrying these three for almost 35 weeks!

She's basically a rock star.

Not my actual nieces and nephew. Imagine these three, but even cuter, and now you're just coming close to knowing how adorable they are.

Fav #2
My egg retrieval is today! At my last ultrasound, we noticed that one of my follicles is shaped like a heart! I love it. Between the heart follicle and the safe arrival of the triplets yesterday, I'm feeling lucky!!

This IS my actual follicle. Sorry for the terrible pic, I'm too tired to figure out how to crop it on my tablet.

What an exciting week! Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Friday Favs 45

Happy Friday!  I'm enjoying a three day weekend before my very last day of work before summer break.  I will be one happy girl come Monday afternoon!

This week's favs are all about the amazing clearance finds to be had at Target right now.  The clearance stock is so good that I visited not one, but two Targets this week!  Here are some of my fav finds...

Fav #1
The fab Threshold kilim poufs are 50% off  in stores right now!  So far, I've held out....but I'm dreaming of two underneath the console table in our living room.  You know, because I really need extra seating in there.....sounds convincing, right?!

Fav #2
The long search for a home for Notorious F.I.G. ended the moment I laid eyes on this cool  Threshold color blocked basket that it currently on clearance.  You can find it here, but I got an even better deal in the store, so you might want to check that out first!

Love it!!

Fav #3
One final fab clearance find are these great lampshades that are the perfect topper to those lucite lamps that I picked up at Goodwill ages ago  These shades were on clearance in the store, plus you can save an additional 15% off all lighting using the Cartwheel app right now.  Clearance plus an additional 15% off?  Can't pass that up!

Have you been to Target lately?!  Am I missing out on any other great deals?  I'll be near a third one today.....I'm not sure I'll be able to resist taking a quick peek to see if that store's clearance section is as rich as the other ones have been lately!

I might also be passing by a Homegoods in my travels today....but that's a whole 'nother story :)

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favs 44

Happy Friday!!
Is anyone else out there dying for some sunshine?!  We haven't seen the sun in days....luckily, this weekend is supposed to be gorgeous.  I'm hoping for some serious pool time.

Friday Favs has been on hiatus for a few weeks, so I'm thrilled to be back to share some awesome things that went down this week!

Fav #1
Amazon Prime Music.  I am SO excited that Amazon has added ad-free music streaming to its Prime Membership.  Let's face it-- I'm already a huge fan of Amazon Prime for it's free 2 day shipping, Kindle lending library and Amazon Instant Video, so offering me free ready-made playlists is just a huge bonus on the yearly fee I'm already going to pay anyway.  Will it replace my love of Pandora?  Probably not, but the available playlists are fun and it's another great perk of a service that I already love. My favorite playlists so far?  80's One Hit Wonders, 50 Great 90's Alternative Songs and 90's R&B for Girls Night (Un-Break My Heart is playing as I type).  Glory days, people.  Want to try a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime?  Check it out here.

Fav #2
Yuengling Black and Tan Ice Cream. Not sure I saw this one coming. I mean, obviously their beer is pretty great too, but this ice cream is blowing my mind.  And I'm not even really an ice cream girl!  Chocolate swirled with salted caramel ice cream.  I can't buy another carton of it because I can't stay away from it once it's in the house.  Can't. Do. It......Ok, maybe one more ;)

Fav #3
Orange Is the New Black Season 2 is finally available on Netflix!  I wanted to save it for my summer vaca, and I'm trying to pace myself, but I'm tearing through it.  Totally good.  Totally not for the faint of heart.

Fav #4
Check out the fab #VowVoxBox that Influenster sent me!  I'm so excited to try out the Olay Regenerist moisturizer and that nail polish!  I'll be sure to give you a full review!

Have an amazing weekend!
